St. Augustine’s College, Manoharpur is located the Southern part of Jharkhand State under West Singhbhum. In the ancient time. It was occupied by Saranda Forest. It was famous for the dence sal forest which is produce top-class sal wood in the world. That time the total Economics of the area depend on the forest products.  Different types of wild animals were living in the area. The area was full of Geo-diversities as well as the environment was so good. But the political Movement and other immigrated people destroyed the Glorious day of the area. The Geology of the area is also very reach. There is plenty of different are as iron-ore manganite Cronin as well as gold also found in the area.

        In the ancient time only ST/SC/ BC and Backward class people were living in whole area but now a day immigrated people has growing in total population. Once who come Manoharpur area  he don’t leave the area.

        In the 70th decade the local educated persons decided that there should be a college for higher education because of there was no any college. Students are facing so many problem to take higher education so there call a meeting under the guidance of the Present Honorable Head Master of S.S.I.P. High School, Manoharpur Late D. N. Sahu (President Awarded) H.M. All the member are hartley welcome the  decision to establishment a college so that it was started in S.S.I.P. High School in 1973. But there were so many problems to run the college that’s why it has gone failed.

After 5 years a another meeting has called a meeting by the president ship of the present HM Mr. S.K. Singh S.S.I.P. High School, Manoharpur. In this meeting the Priest-parish- Honorable Rev Z.J. Terom was also present. The House anonymously accepted a college should be run under the guidance of Rev. Z. J. Terom in St. Augustine’s High School premises and it was started 10th July 1978. It was started from 40 (forty) students only.  There was so many Challenge for the institution like able teachers and how to appeared  admitted students and how to Registration from the higher education Body   like University and Board as well as the challenge of College Building but maximum problems has gone short out gradually under the guidance of  Honorable Prist Rev. Z.J. Terom. The College was running from the time 6:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.  The Qualified employed of different schools and different office. Staff of the local take important part to growing the institution. They were taking classes up to 10 AM. After that the school started in the same building. After the classes of College lecturer were going to their basic job. It was great challenge. The institution has faced so many problems. But gradually about all the problems has gone shoot out by the guidance of CNI Church Parish - Manoharpur. Now There is about 3000 (Three Thousand) students are tried to build their life. They are taking part an important role to build up their career as well as Nation Building.
